The stunning vermillion-lacquered bridge is part of the Futarasan Shrine and is associated with some mysterious Japanese legends. The Futarasan Shrine is dedicated to the three sacred mountains namely Futara, Nyoho and Taro. This bridge marks the entrance to the shrine complex where the important world heritage sites are situated.
